The Director of Communications and Graphic Arts will handle all aspects of communication and graphic arts development for the official First United Methodist Church communication outlets and social media accounts. The Director will be responsible for creating and maintaining the content of weekly worship bulletins, weekly church news emails, monthly newsletters, and provide other graphic design services as needed. The Director will also oversee managing the church website on Squarespace, as well as the church Facebook and Instagram accounts (and others as needed) and should have a full understanding of each platform. A knowledge of the United Methodist Church, its theology, structure, and practices are vital. The Director will also coordinate with the church ministry teams on events and social media initiatives. The Director is expected to increase overall awareness of church actives and ministry initiatives among the congregation as well as the audience size and engagements on social media. Excellent writing skills and stellar interpersonal communication skills are a must. The Director reports to the Lead Pastor and needs to be a team player.
