Discipleship is the practice of growing as followers of Jesus for the sake of the world.  As Methodist Christians, we believe one way we can do this is by faithfully practicing what John Wesley called the five means of grace: praying, searching the Scripture, participating in Holy Communion, fasting, and Christian conferencing.  We practice these means of grace together and also seek to learn more about how to become better at practicing them.  At First Methodist, we do this together with regular rhythms such as weekly Bible Study and Sunday School.  We also gather for seasonal opportunities such as our J-Term Discipleship Academy and special prayer services (please check our EVENTS page for information on upcoming opportunities).
